Foi o primeiro vereador LGBT eleito para a C\u00e2mara de Vereadores do Rio de Janeiro. Em 2018, foi eleito deputado federal pelo PSol.<br><br>Em mar\u00e7o, o jornalista Glenn Greenwald, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CrB2lu2ubWz\/\" target=\"_blank\">casado com Miranda<\/a>, afirmou em um relato publicado em rede social que Miranda estava a maior parte do tempo acordado e conseguia conversar, apesar da traqueostomia que teve que fazer, mas ainda se mantinha ligado a uma m\u00e1quina de ventila\u00e7\u00e3o mec\u00e2nica.<br>\u201c\u00c9 com a mais profunda tristeza que eu anuncio o falecimento do meu marido, David Miranda\u201d, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ggreenwald\/status\/1655906393478537216\" target=\"_blank\">escreveu Gleen no Twitter<\/a>. \u201cEle teria feito 38 anos amanh\u00e3. Sua morte, de manh\u00e3 cedo, veio ap\u00f3s uma batalha de nove meses na UTI.
