A ONG Equal Justice Initiative classifica o caso como \u201ctortura\u201d.<br>O homem foi condenado \u00e0 morte por ter assassinado uma mulher, em 1998, a mando do marido dela, que era pastor e se suicidou ap\u00f3s o ocorrido.<br>No dia 17 de novembro de 2022, Kenneth foi amarrado em uma macaca, onde ficou por algumas horas enquanto os policiais procuravam uma veia boa o suficiente para aplicar o veneno, mas n\u00e3o obtiveram sucesso. Para a Justi\u00e7a, a defesa do condenado afirmou que ele sentiu dor f\u00edsica e psicol\u00f3gica e desenvolveu transtorno de estresse p\u00f3s-traum\u00e1tico.<br>Mesmo assim, no dia 10 de janeiro, o juiz R. Austin Huffaker Jr, do Alabama, proferiu a nova data de execu\u00e7\u00e3o ap\u00f3s negar um recurso apresentado pela defesa de Kenneth para que ele n\u00e3o fosse morto.<br>A defesa argumentou que o condenado est\u00e1 sendo submetido como \u201ccobaia\u201d a um m\u00e9todo novo e experimental de execu\u00e7\u00e3o.<br>O que \u00e9 asfixia por g\u00e1s de nitrog\u00eanio?<br>A asfixia por g\u00e1s de nitrog\u00eanio consiste em prender o condenado \u00e0 maca na c\u00e2mara de execu\u00e7\u00e3o.
