O debate sobre a presen\u00e7a de atletas transexuais<\/a><\/strong> em esportes femininos ganhou uma repercuss\u00e3o mundial nos \u00faltimos dias, ap\u00f3s o nadador transg\u00eanero Lia Thomas vencer a principal competi\u00e7\u00e3o de nata\u00e7\u00e3o da liga universit\u00e1ria dos Estados Unidos, superando as concorrentes mulheres.

Ap\u00f3s receber o t\u00edtulo da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Atl\u00e9tica Nacional de Colegiados (NCAA) de 500m de nado livre, no entanto, Lia Thomas passou a ser alvo de cr\u00edticas por parte de algumas atletas mulheres, como a nadadora h\u00fangara Reka Gyorgy, que perdeu um lugar na final por um ponto.

\u201cD\u00f3i bastante. Esta \u00e9 a minha \u00faltima reuni\u00e3o da faculdade e me sinto frustrada. Parece que aquele lugar final foi tirado de mim por causa da decis\u00e3o da NCAA [entidade organizadora da competi\u00e7\u00e3o] de deixar algu\u00e9m que n\u00e3o \u00e9 uma mulher biol\u00f3gica competir\u201d, disse Reka em um documento enviado \u00e0 NCAA.

A organiza\u00e7\u00e3o conservadora American Principles Project tamb\u00e9m se manifestou. Segundo a entidade, o fato do nadador trans ter iniciado o procedimento de terapia hormonal contra a sua gen\u00e9tica masculina, n\u00e3o foi suficiente para lhe tornar um competidor equivalente \u00e0s mulheres biol\u00f3gicas.


\u201cLia Thomas passou 21 anos de sua vida como homem. Ele come\u00e7ou a competir contra mulheres na nata\u00e7\u00e3o este ano e se tornou campe\u00e3o nacional.
